About this Comenius Project
Learning autonomously – living in solidarity in Europe”
Lifelong learning, university studies and professional education are a basic demand for a life in Europe.
Our project is based on the assumption that our pupils resp. our schools have a deficit with regard to independent learning and autonomous organisation. As for our students education is an important instrument for social success, there is a danger that a lack of these competences leads to missing equality of chances, that the social gap in society is increasing, thus the initial position is becoming more unjust. We find that traditional methods of teaching and learning are often insufficient to compensate these deficits.
In all participating schools there are signs of new forms, methods and concepts of learning, which, in a first step, we are going to examine, to compare and to check with regard to their transferability to different school systems. It is our aim to find a mutual way for all participants, in order to promote independent learning. In a second step the mutually developed approach is to be filled with content and to be tried out at all schools. This is to be realized with the help of the three following topics:
- problems of gender roles, - intercultural living together, - questions of social security/welfare.
In the daily life of the youth at our schools these topics are of special explosive nature. Especially in this respect autonomous life and behaviour is important, which may result from the experience of activity-oriented and individual learning. In the ideal case this will lead to a life in solidarity in Europe.
